Today in my group, Higher Consciousness Health, we are talking about “Spiritual Awakenings”. Have you had one? Do you know what one is? There are many different descriptions for these two HUGE words. To sum it up it’s a realization of your spirituality and an okayness with the real you; your deepest self! How amazing is that?
Have you had one? I can guarantee that you would know if you have. Spiritual awakenings are not for the faint of heart and are honestly… HARD. We as beings set up this so called “plan” that we create in our mind, most of the time around early adulthood. This is due to the social standards of society. However this plan that we create around this time isn’t THE so called “PLAN”. Our Creator has planned something so much more for us with no set expectations. A point of life where you come to a state of gratitude, you let go of who you thought you were and have an understanding of just being. You are finally happy with the real you; your deepest self.
Here’s where the hard part comes in. We as beings just have to trust our Creator and our path; our souls contract. And not the social standards expectations path. The hard part is “letting go”, listening and trusting. I see so many people around me going through it in resistance mode. Yes, I am talking about the ego driven non-reality where you think you have control over everything. Ultimately we know we do not have control over everything. Control is an illusion. The more control you feel you have to have, just prepare for your life to get REALLY HARD.
Our choices are powerful but they are not control. When we force control we fall out of alignment with ourselves and others. I would like to use the example of having expectations for others. The pure thought of expecting another person to do something you want is a form of control. Then when this person does not live up to your expectations it creates resistance within you and the inability to deal with reality. The resistance, instead of letting things go, makes the situation worse.
Another example, think about waiting in line behind someone at the grocery store. Accept the fact that you are waiting. Why make yourself upset by wanting the person to go faster? They are moving at their speed. See if you can begin to realize when your resistance happens. What are your resistance triggers? If you can pin point these you can change them. It’s interesting to see what resistance vs acceptance does to our bodies. And who knows what that moment has in store for a lesson being learned on your journey to your spiritual awakening.
A spiritual awakening can happen at any time. You can try to force it through meditation, chanting, prayers, journaling, grounding, the list goes on forever. While you will feel enlightened by doing these amazing and beautiful practices, the resistance will still be there. Nothing will get you there like just letting go. Find yourself; your true self, your deepest self. Live your souls contract. Love the journey and accept your spiritual awakening.
Amanda,
I completely understand, I feel like I am going through this right now 🙂
Many of us are and do not understand what is going on 🙂 More to come!
